A well-kept secret among locals who pass through here for their outdoors activities in the huge Villa Pamphili park or have chosen the area for the number of great, authentic restaurants in the district, Monteverde has maintained its quiet character, and it’s so different from the hustle and bustle around the main landmarks on the other side of the river that one could very well think of having ended in a different city altogether!

Via Alberto Mario is the latest addition to From Home to Rome’s growing number of rental apartments. If you’d like to discover a different side of the Eternal City, in an authentic residential borough where travelers hardly roam, you can now do so without breaking the bank!

This newest apartment is full of character and is perfect for couples as well as friends wanting to discover something that’s off the beaten path while being extremely well connected to the rest of the city (the subway doesn’t run in Monteverde, but you’ll have a city train connecting you to the Vatican area & Trastevere – among others – as well as a popular tram line and a few buses).

Via Alberto Mario can sleep up to six guests: there are two bedrooms available as well as a large, comfortable, double sofa-bed in the living room. It comes complete with A/C, a fully furnished kitchen and an abundance of closet space, although the main feature of this apartment would be its cozy, shaded terrace. Thanks to the mild Roman weather this is an extra space that can be lived all day long – visitors can work here, can have aperitivo or their meals here, and can use it as an alfresco living room!
