New at From Home to Rome: Via dei Capocci

From Home to Rome has finally landed in Monti! Our newest managed apartment is actually a first for us, because it is located in the historic, fascinating Monti district, where we had no previous accommodations available.

This area of Rome, around the corner from the Colosseum, Forum and within walking distance from such landmarks as Piazza Venezia, the monument for Victor Emmanuel or the church of San Nicola in Carcere with its Michelangelo Moses, is as old as Rome itself and is an authentic lesson in history: it was here, when the place was still called Suburra, that none other than Julius Caesar was born; it was here that gladiators used to live on account of the cheap housing in the borough; it was here that many noble families grew powerful during the Middle Ages; and part of the area was sadly destroyed when Mussolini planned the road now known as Via dei Fori Imperiali.

History is in every building and every stone of Monti, and we’re extremely proud of featuring this apartment in our catalogue: the name itself evokes its importance, with a reference to one wealthy family, the Capocci, who were particularly powerful around these parts. With its position a few minutes away from the metro stop @ Cavour, the flat at Via dei Capocci is conveniently close to the main train station at Roma Termini, the Quirinale Palace or Basilica di San Clemente, among many others.

The apartment will sleep up to 4 people, and it’s recommended if you mean to discover a different side of Rome – one that is still not overrun with tourists, that is still authentic and has great food, interesting shops and photo opportunities at every step.
