Property Description

Wanderlust House is a vacation rental next to Piazza Trilussa, Trastevere, which lies across the river from the historic centre of Rome. You can read about it from the history books and tourist guides, both in Italian and English, displayed inside the front door, on the 2nd floor of a building with elevator. In this hall, you can hang your coats and also sit at a desk, in front of which there is the first of 3 bedrooms, including chair and armchair, wardrobe, drawers, mirror and twin beds, or a double bed. Opposite the front door, there are two doors for the living room, one for the relaxing area (two sofas, two armchairs, bookshelves, Italian TV), another for dining (a table for 6-8 people and a sideboard). The living room also includes a piano. In the corridor alongside are the two other bedrooms, two bathrooms and the kitchen. The latter is fully equipped, and includes microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso Coffee Maker and one table which can sit up to 4 people. Of the two bathrooms, one is the most equipped, including shower and bidet, one other is smaller and has a washing machine at the front. Of the two other bedrooms, one has a double bed, two bedside tables, a wardrobe and a desk; the last bedroom has twin beds in wooden boards, a wardrobe and a bedside table. The overall impression is of a bright and wide place, where there can be room for everyone in a family or group of friends, also because of the large windows in every room.

The flat is light and airy and in an ideal location on the river at Piazza Trilussa. Ideal for 3 couples. Virtually all main sights are within a 30 minute walk. Only downside was the noise outside at night and in the early hours, which did not really bother us as we had seen previous reviews. Trastevere with its great nightlife, restaurants and bars is on the doorstep. Perfecto!

We were 4 women traveling in Italy and knew we wanted to stay in the Trastevere area. Loved this place. The building is very secure. The apartment has a lot of space, it’s clean, well stocked, and very unique in its decor. We walked everywhere from here. There are restaurants, grocery, boutiques, cafes and bars so close. Some reviews complain of the street noise, but we embrace the liveliness of the neighborhood opening the windows to take it in, but ear plugs are provided if you needed them. The check in was very smooth and informative and we also had them provide the car service from the airport and to the train station. That was so helpful. It was a great place for us and we would definitely stay here again!

The apartment itself is amazing, beautifully designed and decorated. The apartment is huge with wonderful high ceilings, and spacious rooms. It has a very cool vibe with beautiful ceiling high book cases, piano and record player. The location is ideal for going in the evening, with loads of restaurants and bars nearby. The only slight drawback is that there are quite a number of people near the apartment at night, and it was a little noisy. If you are looking to see the sights in Rome then this is also ideal as you can walk to most of the major attractions very easily. Many of the most famous sites are less than 30 minutes away by foot and the journey by foot takes you through many beautiful parts of the city. The host Sara was great and was in contact regularly after we arrived. We would definitely go here again!

The location was ideal. You could walk to (Hidden by Airbnb) y off the museums, churches (including St. Peter’s and the vatican) and historical sites. Excellent restaurants and bars throughout the entire neighborhood. The Tiber River across the street. For seven nights it was like one big party in the backyard.

This was the perfect location to travel as a group with my husband, brother and father. I already expected a beautiful place in an ideal location, but what I didn’t expect were all the perfect little touches that made it feel like a home. My dad in particular loved the record collection and we had a lot of fun playing some great ones on the little turntable. And it has an amazing library! If I can ever move to Rome (fingers crossed) this is exactly where I’d want to settle down! Would absolutely stay again.

Great apartment in Trastevere

The apartment was perfect for our group (three adults, three kids). The location is very lively, though we did not use the ear plugs that were kindly provided. We walked all around Trastevere, and across the Ponte Sisto into the heart of Rome. The bedrooms have plenty of room, and the living room and dining room were very comfortable. The air conditioning was a blessing in the late-July heat. Communication was excellent - they helped arrange a van for us from the airport, and there was someone waiting to receive us upon arrival. We would happily stay here again.

Atmospheric, authentic and well located

We were a party of six and stayed here for our first time in Rome. We chose this property because of the atmosphere which looked (and was!) so unusual for a holiday flat. Communication with the manager was fantastic, and we used the airport shuttle he organised, that was very easy. The apartment was very clean, with lovely furnishing. Obviously someone’s private holiday place rather than a profit-maximising, IKEA filled collection of white MDF and plastic. Weak point: The kitchen. Very few utensils (knives, boards, cups, ..) - don’t plan a cooking fest Here! But we didn’t cook and it was fine for breakfast. There’s a great cafe in the building, so even that is unnecessary. We enjoyed the piano very much and had brought smaller instruments with us to play together, that worked very well. Other reviews had mentioned the noise and I thought it would be fine beginning of November - no way! Amazing how Romans can party in the street even in November drizzle!! We aren’t the partying types and had the kids with us but all agreed the street festival atmosphere outside was actually quite fun to go to sleep to. Be warned of street sweepers at 7am though, clattering empty bottles down the cobbled alleys. All in all a very special place in the midst of Rome!
