Property Description

In one of the quietest areas of the borough of Trastevere, just a few steps away from the heart of this vibrant neighborhood, Casa San Francesco is a real jewel set at the very center of Rome, located on the second floor of a building dating back to 1912.

In spite of the lively atmosphere of the district and its characteristic alleys, this is very much a peaceful spot, which the owner still enjoys living in from time to time. Therefore, compared to other similar apartments in the area, her personal touches in the decor and furnishing of the flat are very much one of the defining features of this accommodation.

The apartment was recently renovated to include a second bathroom, and an existing kitchenette was replaced by an actual kitchen, in order to have a bigger living room and, more importantly, to meet the demands of Casa San Francesco’s many guests throughout the years.

Casa San Francesco is a spacious apartment composed by living room, kitchen, two double bedrooms and two bathrooms that can accommodate up to 4 people. Please enjoy a Jacuzzi shower in one of the bathrooms and know that one double bed can easily be adapted to two twin beds, should you be traveling with your little ones. The newly built kitchen features all appliances, ready for you to prepare all your meals from scratch while in Rome!

One of Casa San Francesco’s many advantages is the relative distance between the bedrooms, so that every guest can fully enjoy their privacy: with the structural changes, the second bathroom definitely adds to the uniqueness of the setting. You will no doubt love the extra space as well as the tranquility of this corner of Trastevere and, last but not least, the luminous spaces, with natural light flooding the Casa for much part of the day.

The flat comes with a ceiling fan in the living room and A/C in both bedrooms, plus a washing machine and a dryer tucked away in a convenient closet.

Casa San Francesco is the ideal location to enjoy fully the area’s wide choice of restaurants, cafés and pizzerias. A taxi rank and many bus stops are close by, but the apartment’s location allows you to reach the main city attractions quite easily on foot, to enjoy Rome’s many sights along the way.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful apartment. It's comfortable, quiet and in a nice part of Trastevere, away from the crowds. Cecilia, the owner, is very organized and she gave us a folder full of detailed instructions for everything, including places to eat, transport etc. The apartment is only a short walk from the city centre (across the bridge) and the Trastevere centre.

What a great apartment! It was light and airy and in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood but only a short walk from a dazzling array of excellent cafes, bars and restaurants. Our host made us feel very welcome and provided a comprehensive list of local amenities and things to do. We were able to stroll into central Rome in about 25 minutes but there are plenty of taxis and buses if you don't fancy the walk. I would definitely stay here again - it's lovely!

Together for Christmas in Rome

My husband, our two adult sons and I celebrated Christmas in this lovely, perfect apartment. We could not have asked for more. The warmest of welcomes from Cecilia and Gudrun, working with Emmanuele & Sara at From Home to Rome, our exceptional tour guide Chiara, and the reliable drivers to and from the airport all contributed to our unforgettable holiday. There was even a small Christmas tree we lit every morning and evening, which we fondly called “Spelacchio”. It is a peaceful oasis.

Light-filled, cheerful, spotless; As a frequent visitor to Rome this has been my best! Cecilia and her husband were gracious hosts, welcoming and very helpful with every detail to be expected on a stay in Rome. The apartment was delightful: light filled, spacious and cheery with a wonderful ambience. The location in the city is ideal for those who wish to be close to everything and yet have the peace of a quiet street with the green Janiculum hill as a back drop. I hope to be a frequent visitor.

Lovely home in beautiful walkable location. Away from all the crowds but close enough to get to all

Our host was wonderful and kind. The apartment is well decorated. I loved the record player with all kinds of classic music. The location was down a quite road but accessible within minutes to food and fun. Able to walk to most all the major sites like the Forum, colosseum, Trevi. We did a cooking school literally 1 block away and was one of the highlights of the trip. Definitely recommend staying here
